Breakfast before a hard day of Christmas shopping. Raspberries with yogurt, and two eggs with bacon. At midmorning I had a cappuccino, and then lunch was a rumpsteak with green salad. It was a German "farmer's" salad, which comes with pickled cabbage and green beans, which I did not eat. It was made with butter lettuce and lamb's lettuce (also called mache), which I ate, but I think that lamb's lettuce is actually high in oxalate like spinach. There were only about three clusters of it in the salad, so it was a very small amount, but I shall try to avoid it in the future. My oxalate diet book doesn't list lamb's lettuce, but I remember reading about it on a website somewhere, and it mentioned the high-oxalate content of various lettuces. Too bad, it is one of my favorites... :(Saturday, December 8, 2007
